The combat retains the precise, weighty feel that defines the Soulslike genre while offering unprecedented build diversity through Ashes of War, spirit summons, and hundreds of weapons. The open-world structure brilliantly solves the difficulty problem — when stuck, explore elsewhere and return stronger. Boss design reaches extraordinary highs, though some late-game encounters prioritize spectacle over fairness. Performance issues on PC at launch have been largely addressed.
