Hitman: World of Assassination represents the definitive stealth sandbox experience. The trilogy's levels are intricate clockwork mechanisms -- each location is a dense web of routines, disguises, and assassination opportunities that rewards observation, patience, and creative thinking. From the sun-drenched streets of Sapienza to the rain-soaked streets of Chongqing, the environmental design is consistently extraordinary. The game's greatest triumph is replayability; every level can be approached dozens of different ways, and discovering new methods remains satisfying after hundreds of hours. The Escalation contracts and community-created contracts extend longevity further. IO Interactive's decision to consolidate all three games into one package is generous and convenient. Where the experience falters is in its always-online requirement and the relatively thin overarching narrative that connects the trilogy. The AI, while functional for stealth gameplay, can sometimes behave erratically. But as a pure stealth playground, nothing else in gaming comes close to the depth and replayability on offer here.
